It May Be Worth a Conversation
Has Something Changed?
Changes in sexual health are common, but that does not mean you have to ignore them or assume they are simply part of getting older.
Sexual function can be influenced by hormones, circulation, medications, metabolic health, stress, mood and relationship factors. An assessment can help identify what may be contributing and clarify what to do next.
-
Changes in Erections
Difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, or noticing that erections are less reliable than they used to be.
-
Lower Sexual Desire
A noticeable or persistent decrease in sexual interest, desire or spontaneous sexual thoughts.
-
Changes in Performance
Changes involving arousal, ejaculation, sensitivity or your ability to feel comfortable during sexual activity.
-
Reduced Confidence
Worry, frustration or performance anxiety that is beginning to affect your confidence, relationships or quality of life.
-
Fewer Spontaneous Erections
Noticing fewer morning or spontaneous erections than was previously typical for you.
-
Discomfort or Physical Changes
Pain, discomfort, curvature or another physical change that you would like assessed by a healthcare provider.
These concerns do not automatically indicate low testosterone or one specific diagnosis. Brooke will consider your symptoms, health history, medications, laboratory results and other possible contributing factors before discussing your options.
When Treatment Is Clinically Appropriate
What the Right Treatment May Improve
Sexual health treatment begins with understanding what may be contributing to the changes you are experiencing.
Because sexual function can be affected by multiple physical, hormonal and psychological factors, treatment should be based on your individual symptoms, health history and assessment results—not a one-size-fits-all solution.
-
More Reliable Erections
Appropriate treatment may improve your ability to get and maintain erections when the contributing factors can be identified and addressed.
-
Improved Sexual Desire
Addressing hormonal, medical or lifestyle factors may help improve sexual interest and desire for some men.
-
Greater Confidence
Understanding what is happening and having a clear treatment plan may reduce uncertainty, frustration and performance-related worry.
-
Better Overall Function
Treatment may support arousal, sexual satisfaction and overall function depending on the concern and its underlying causes.
Results vary, and the right treatment depends on what is contributing to your symptoms. Brooke will review the potential benefits, limitations and risks of your options based on your health information and clinical needs.

Sexual Health Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Does erectile dysfunction always mean low testosterone?
No. Erections can be affected by circulation, cardiovascular and metabolic health, medications, stress, mood, relationship factors and other medical concerns. Testosterone is only one possible contributor, which is why an individualized assessment is important.
What happens during the first appointment?
Brooke will ask about the changes you have noticed, your health history, medications, current conditions and any previous testing or treatment. The appointment is private and focused on understanding what may be contributing to your concerns.
Will I need laboratory testing?
Laboratory testing may be recommended when it could help evaluate testosterone levels, metabolic health or another possible contributor. Brooke will explain which tests are appropriate based on your symptoms and health information.
Can medications affect sexual function?
Yes. Some prescription medications and other substances may affect desire, erections, ejaculation or sexual response. Brooke will review your medications as part of your assessment. Do not stop a prescribed medication without speaking with the healthcare provider responsible for your care.
Is sexual health treatment the same for every man?
No. Treatment depends on the concern, its possible causes, your medical history and what is clinically appropriate for you. Options may involve medication, hormone treatment when indicated, lifestyle support, monitoring or referral for additional care.
What if I need a specialist?
If your symptoms require additional investigation or care outside Brooke’s scope, she can help identify the appropriate next step and recommend follow-up with your physician or another healthcare provider.
