Anger Management
for Men

Understand the Reaction. Choose What Happens Next.

Practical, confidential counselling to help you understand what drives your anger, recognize the pattern earlier and respond to stress, frustration and conflict with more control.

When Anger Starts Taking Over

Anger is not automatically a problem. It often signals that something underneath needs attention. Therapy can help you understand what is driving the reaction and find ways to respond without damaging your relationships, wellbeing or future.

Quick Escalation

Small frustrations become intense reactions before you can slow them down.

Bottled-Up Pressure

Stress builds quietly until it comes out all at once.

Relationship Conflict

Anger is creating distance, fear or repeated conflict with the people closest to you.

Physical Reactions

Tension, racing thoughts or a surge of energy makes it difficult to stay in control.

Regret & Shame

You feel guilty about what you said or did once the moment has passed.

Feeling Out of Control

You worry your reactions could affect your family, work or the life you have built.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About Anger Management

How Do I Know If I Need Help With Anger?

It may be helpful to speak with a therapist if anger feels difficult to control, repeatedly affects your relationships or work, leads to reactions you regret or causes you to worry about what may happen next.

Is Anger Management Only for People Who Become Violent?

No. Anger can appear as arguments, irritability, resentment, withdrawal, shutdowns or feeling constantly on edge. You do not need to wait for the problem to become severe before seeking support.

What Happens in Anger-Management Therapy?

Your therapist will help you recognize triggers, understand what may be underneath your anger and identify the physical and emotional signs that appear before a reaction. You will work on practical strategies for responding differently.

Will I Be Judged for What I Share?

Therapy is intended to provide a respectful and confidential place to speak honestly about what has been happening. The goal is not to label or shame you—it is to understand the pattern, take responsibility where needed and build healthier responses.

Is Anger-Management Therapy Available Virtually?

Yes. MFM offers confidential virtual therapy across Alberta. You will need to be physically located in Alberta during your appointment and have access to a private place where you can speak openly.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions depends on your concerns, goals and circumstances. Your therapist will work with you to develop an approach that fits your needs and can review your progress with you over time.

What If I Do Not Know Which Therapist to Choose?

You can book a free consultation with MFM’s Wellness Specialist. Alyssa will learn more about what you are experiencing, explain your options and help connect you with a therapist who may be a good fit.

Is Therapy Covered by Insurance?

Coverage depends on your insurance plan and the professional designation of your therapist. We recommend confirming your coverage directly with your insurance provider before booking.

You Can Change the Pattern.

Book therapy directly or start with a free consultation if you would like help choosing the right therapist.
